The good news!!! On Friday June 16th at 9am we will be loading a 40ft. container to go to Haiti. Our counterpart, Sandra Koch, will receive the container and distribute the contents to the needy in that poor, devastated, corrupt nation. In that container will be over 65,000 meals to feed the starving. Thanks to you for providing a portion of them. There also will be wheel chairs, canes, crutches, walkers, commodes, clothing and many pounds of spaghetti and jars of tomato sauce and a treadle sewing machine. Also there will be many, many rolls of beautiful material to be used by those in need. The young girls will be pleased to receive pillowcase dresses and there are shorts for the boys. And thanks to Pastor Hoover we have 12 bicycles which have all been reconditioned, trialed, and are ready for the trip to Haiti. We thank Thrivent for their funds to provide some of the food for Haiti and refreshments for those loading the container.
The other news!!! It has been quite an experience at the warehouse these past months. Our warehouse, which we rent for a nominal fee, was sold. The previous owner responded quite readily when the roof leaked. The new owners, having continually been alerted to the leaks, have responded with “we are searching for bids to repair/redo the roof.” With many buckets scattered throughout the warehouse we have rearranged many of the areas in order to keep things dry, collect the water in buckets, and continue to operate. Through prayer and tenacity we continue to sort, pack and ship.
What will the new owners decide when our lease expires on August 31? We wish not to wait and see. Your opportunity! We need between 6000 and 7000 square feet of space to operate. A portion should be heated and air conditioned. Bathrooms are a necessity. Our volunteers come from a wide area all the way from Dover, Delaware to Coatesville, PA. The greater Wilmington area or secondly West Chester are the preferred areas. The desired space does not have to be a warehouse, possibly a closed business or some company which has space they are not using or an organization which has moved to bigger and better facilities or some other situation. When you come across some opportunity please contact Cliff Kraft at 610-420-0380 and we will take it from there.
“When the Lord closes a door he always opens a window.” We are praying and searching for that window and invite you to join us.
In the meantime come on down and join in the sorting and packing and the joy of knowing that you indeed are being a blessing to others.
To God alone be the glory,
“I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you”
